Lord, give me the humility and faith of Mary, mother of Jesus and Queen Esther! When approached by the angel of the Lord, young Mary said, “I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word”
Esther risked her life when she went before King Ahasuerus because if he did not put out the scepter, then she would have surely died but Esther said “I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish” She had the faith that her King would not deny her.
Lord, make me as brave as Rahab! Rahab risked her life to hide the spies sent into Jericho by Joshua as “she had taken them up to the roof and hidden them under the stalks of flax she had laid out on the roof” (Joshua 2:6). If these men had been discovered, it would have meant certain death for her.
Lord give me the courage and the wisdom of Deborah. She had the wisdom to judge a kingdom and the bravery to lead an army of men into battle.
And my favorite…Mary Magdalene! Lord, give me the faithfulness and loyalty of Mary Magdalene! Though many had left Him, she followed Him all the way to the cross and beyond not faltering one time! There was none as loyal as Mary Magdalene. Lord make me a Mary Magdalene! Teach me to worship as she worshiped, with boldness and unashamed!
In His love,
Elizabeth
