Healing Your Hidden Wounds

Healing Your Hidden Wounds     God can, will and wants to heal us. But some of us have hidden wounds. Wounds we fight hard to hide, afraid to show to anyone, even God. But God  just don’t want to heal the wounds that show, He yearns to heal your hidden wounds, the wounds you’ve hidden deep inside your heart and they’ve become infectious, poisoning our whole body, making us soul sick. Wounds from unspeakable horrible things that’s wounded us so deep we’re afraid if we bring them out we won’t be able to stand it, we’ll die.  But sometimes we’ll allow ourselves to bring them out, just for a minute…look at them and then the pain comes back so strong it overwhelms us like a tsunami so we push them back inside and we cry.

Hidden wounds are the memories that still hurt! Recollections from our past wounds that will sneak in from time to time to torment us. These wounds can be from abuse, bullying, and/or words that cut to the bone. Physical wounds heal quickly, but emotional wounds take time. These wounds come from everywhere and out of nowhere.  And until you allow God to heal the wounds of your past, you will continue to hurt and bleed. You can bandage the wounds with drugs, alcohol, food, sex…things of the ‘flesh’, even deny that the pain exists, but eventually the pain and bleeding will seep through and stain your life.  Emotional scars can take a long time to heal.

Often times a wound will heal on the outside before it heals on the inside and oft times the doctor will have to rip off the scab and open up the wound in order for it to heal completely, from the inside out.  Yes this will hurt like the dickens and yes it will bleed but it’s necessary in order for complete healing.

Sometimes that’s what Abba has to do with our wounds. He has to pull the scab off, open them up so we can see the damage done and then allow Him to reach in there, get rid of the toxic substance (infection) so the wound can heal.  Wounds that you shut away from the light of His love will fester and become wormy.

You must find the strength to allow God to look deep inside, open the wounds and reach in and remove the source of the pain and heal you! Only then will you be able to walk in the fullness of the life He has ordained for you!  Only then can you experience the abundant life He wants for you!

Sometimes we feel like our wounds may be self inflicted from bad choices we’ve made and the enemy has filled us will shame and guilt,  don’t let devil lie to you , your wounds are not your fault!

Everyone has hidden wounds!  Everyone has scars!  Everyone is broken!

In Exodus 15, we see reference to Jehovah Rapha: the God that heals you. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. In Psalm 147:4 – God heals the broken hearted and bandages their wounds. Jehovah Rapha = “I am the God who heals”

Jesus can heal you wherever you hurt!  ❤

In His love,
